About this data

A spread is the first market's price less the second's, in euros per kilogram, on the weeks both were priced; the ratio divides one by the other. The history is the European Commission's weekly price reports, published on its Agri-food Data Portal, each dated to the Sunday that ends its week.

A newer OliveTerm estimate closes the line, drawn hollow; a missing week breaks it, and nothing is carried forward. Spain's grades are the Jaén market; Italy, Greece and Portugal are national averages. Tunisia is not covered by EU reporting, so its line is OliveTerm's estimates. How each series is sourced is on the methodology page.

Refined olive oil and crude pomace oil are the Jaén market for Spain, refined pomace oil Spain's national average, and Italy's are national averages. The seed oils are crude oils, Spain's priced at the processor's gate and Italy's delivered in Milan, so their two levels do not compare.
