The OliveTerm Research Desk

OliveTerm publishes institutionally, as a desk, the way a market intelligence service does. Our analysis is written by people who work in and around the olive oil trade. Every claim is sourced, every price carries its provenance, and where a figure is our own estimate we label it as such.

Data sources and update schedule

Origin prices come from official sources: the European Commission's weekly member-state prints, with market references such as Poolred (Spain), ISMEA (Italy) and ONH (Tunisia). They are held flat between publications. Production, stock and balance figures come from the EC's olive oil balance sheets and national sources. Insights publish several times a month and the market report publishes monthly. The full detail, source by source, is on the price methodology page.
