About this data
Sources, coverage and method
The backbone of the board is the weekly official price reporting EU producer countries make under Regulation (EU) 2017/1185, republished by the European Commission's Agri-food Data Portal and ingested automatically every day.
Each symbol quotes a stated reference series: the Jaén (ES616) market for Spain, national averages for Italy, Portugal and Greece. When a series has no fresh print, the board carries a declared OliveTerm estimate, labelled as such on the row itself.
Refined olive oil and the olive-pomace oils are the Commission's weekly prices too: Jaén for Spain's refined olive oil and crude pomace oil, the national average for Spain's refined pomace oil and for Italy.
The seed oils are crude oils, priced weekly by the Commission per tonne and shown here per kilogram: Spain's national average at the processor's gate, Italy's delivered in Milan, so the two levels do not compare.
