Last day for Jaén's co-operatives and mills to submit early-harvest oils to the Jaén Selección 2027 tasting competition, which picks the province's eight best extra virgin olive oils of the new crop.
About Jaén Selección 2027: sample deadline
Jaén Selección is the quality mark of the Diputación Provincial de Jaén. Each year a professional panel of ten tasters, headed by Brígida Jiménez, chooses eight extra virgin olive oils from the province's new harvest, which then carry the Jaén Selección distinction.
Entries must come from a homogeneous lot of at least 8,000 litres, or 5,000 litres for organic oils.
