AICA August stocks: final carry-in read
Source: AICA / MAPA, monthly market situation advance · Checked 2026-09-11
- Expected (as recorded)
- Carry-in for 2026/27
- Previous
- 569.3 kt · 95.1 kt offtake
Stocks closed August at 475.4 kt. September offtake of 120 to 125 kt would leave carry-in near 350 kt, against the 290.5 kt the 2024/25 campaign closed on. Benchmarked on carry-in rather than on mid-campaign stock, that sits in the comfortable band: the new crop starts on more oil than last year, not less. Final carry-in is the 30 September figure, published in October.
Neutral if confirmed · the desk's reading
The August release is the last stock reading before the campaign closes, so it effectively fixes the carry-in the new crop starts from. The level it lands at frames every price scenario for 2026/27, and feeds directly into the 120% threshold calculation in the new marketing standard.
