About Mario Solinas Quality Award 2026, Southern Hemisphere: award ceremony
The Mario Solinas Quality Award is the IOC's own competition, judged by the organoleptic panels it recognises. The Southern Hemisphere edition was created so that oils from the southern harvest, milled from April to July, could be judged fresh rather than wait for the Northern Hemisphere edition in the spring.
The 2026 edition, launched in May, drew 24 entries: eight from Argentina, three from Brazil, one from South Africa and twelve from Uruguay. The winners were announced on 25 September and receive their awards on 10 November at the Laboratorio Tecnológico del Uruguay in Montevideo.
